The Concept
This custom wine cellar is a stunning example of how wine can be elevated to an art form. The marble and clear acrylic wine racks create a sense of luxury and sophistication.
The wine cellar is located in a private residence and was designed to be both functional and beautiful. The marble wall at the back of the space provides a striking backdrop for the wine bottles. The timeless elegance and natural veining of the marble selected exudes sophistication.
The Design
There are two styles of wine storage systems in this space. On the center section of the marble wall, we mounted metal bottle pegs to showcase some of the owners’ prized wines in a label forward configuration. The racking in the rest of the wine cellar is from our Elevation Collection. To the right and left of the feature wall we utilized clear acrylic bottle cradles supported by silver metal posts. The racks feature a cork forward configuration to maximize storage capacity. On the right wall of the wine room, the same racking was utilized in a label-forward configuration, single bottle depth. The left wall has an elevation wine rack, suspended, to add visual interest and can accommodate large format bottles. Below this wine display is a cabinet for storage with a marble top to match the feature wall.
The Features
The frameless glass door and sidelights at the front of the space offer a clear view into the wine cellar. The lighting design of the Striking Marble Wine Room is well thought out. The recessed lighting in the upper and lower soffits provides soft, ambient light that sets the mood while accentuating the display of wine bottles. The Wine Guardian climate control system ensures a consistent temperature and humidity level, critical for the long-term storage of wines.
The marble wine room is a perfect example of how wine can be enjoyed as a work of art. The beauty of the space, meticulous attention to detail, and materials and finishes selected combine to create an unforgettable wine cellar. This project stands as a testament to the fact that a well-designed wine cellar is not just a storage space but an experience that enriches the senses and celebrates the finer things in life.
