The Concept
Our clients in Dallas, Texas are avid wine and bourbon collectors. They were looking to showcase their collection by converting an unused dining room into an inviting wine lounge. The focal point of the space would be a glass-enclosed wine wall with display racks and bottle shelving. The high ceilings and open feel of the space provided a perfect backdrop for the stunning, display wine wall we designed.
The Design
The homeowner’s goal was to store and showcase their beautiful wine and bourbon collection which has a capacity of just over 150 bottles. The space is open to the front entrance of the home and adjacent to a butler's pantry that leads to the kitchen. This location was optimal for ease of access for entertaining.
The Features
The wine racks selected were from our Elevation Collection. Elevation wine racks offer a contemporary look with metal posts that support clear, honed acrylic bottle cradles that create a stunning floating effect. They chose matte black metal posts along with walnut millwork with a clear finish for the base and soffit of the wine wall for a rich look.
The wine rack is a mixed display that includes cork-forward and label-forward rows that accommodate both standard 750ml wine bottles as well as magnums. Also included are several shelves to display their bourbon collection. 
At the back of the wine wall, creamy ledgestone was used to further accent the display wine racks. The wine wall has glass on three sides and matte black ladder pulls, and hinges were chosen to match the metal wine rack posts. Dimmable LED lighting is integrated into the soffit and base of the cabinet to further show off the collection.
